Yet we have truck loads here. Popularity have side effects. It burns your pocket. The "True Rich," the, "Pretending to be Rich," and the, "Trying to be Rich," the ROLLERCOASTER RIDE, that does the shifting. Don't worry for those who cannot make it, THEY ARE DIGGING UNDERGROUND, to make it up. What a wonderful world !!!

What's new. We know all these while that our things are expensive, our daily lives are not becoming affordable.

Yes there are loads of countries such as Norway, Prague and Switzerland (just to name a few) that are expensive. But they are expensive to TOURIST. Local people there knows it is expensive, but they can survive. Because there are many things which are subsidized by their government, or cheap in comparison. For example, they may pay big bucks on groceries (food), and public transport, but they may pay very little for housing, car, medical.

For Singapore average earning, the cost of living will soon become unbearable.

the simple common people who struggle each day to make ends meet are not proud at all at its "most expensive" position but those who make this happens are very proud of their efforts in doing so, if not it will not live up to its name as a lst world country. The envied position it earned, depends on who and how one looks at it.

Well there's nothing we have heard about SG being the cheapest in the world...MP pay the highest, whatever more...living standard the highest...But our pay the lowest!!! e.g. QA Manager $3000/- what might as well be a taxi driver.

Recently went over the causeway buy some crackers at 7 riggit/300gm. The exact same item selling 12 sing/200gm. The government teaches us, if Jurong selling cheaper lunch, eat there. If medical and retirement are cheaper across the causeway, go there. We pay government millions of dollars of salaries and these are their directions. Oh yes, our standard of living comparable to Swiss so Sg is not that expensive. Our taxi fares cheap compare to Japan and London...but their salaries cannot compare to other countries. Bravo, my beloved government, you can choose what you want to say.

I am sure that they based their findings on a bigger sample size of goods than those from a neighborhood coffee shop menu.

  • Sweetvoice  •  Singapore, Central Singapore  •  4 months ago
All this because PAP allows it to happen thinking it is the best for Singaporeans. What stupidity can we put to this act.

With this scenario, more than 50% citizens earning below SGD 100,000 annually, but the ministers are paid 1,000% every year. Can justify ?
